You probably spend a lot of your free time watching your favorite shows or movies after work or on weekends with your friends. Our world is multinational and it’s a good thing if you are Englishspeaker. But what if you want to watch your favorite shows in their original language or in a different version? One of the most popular streaming services, Hulu, doesn’t yet offer the ability to change the language of the app to another language. But you can change the dubbing and subtitle language of the show you’re watching. This is quite easy to do on different devices.

How to do it on Xbox
If you use your Xbox not only as a gaming console but also to watch different content, on Hulu among others, it will be useful for you to know how to change the language there :
- Turn on the movie you want to watch
- Press up or swipe down on your remote to pull up the playback bar
- Find your Settings, it’s marked with a gear icon in the bottom left corner. Click on it
- At the Settings bar, you will see a choice for Captions & Subtitles for your film
- Choose the language you want
How to change the language on PS4
Exactly like on Xbox, Hulu is also available on the PS4, the process of changing the language there is very similar :
- Turn on the movie you want to watch
- Press up or swipe down on your remote to pull up the playback bar
- Find Settings
- At settings, you’ll see Captions & Subtitles, go there
- Choose your preferred language
How to change the language on FireStick
If you use FireStick TV, you can also use Hulu and change the language using this manual:
- Turn on the movie you want
- Swipe down on your remote control
- Next you need to Swipe up or press to open the Settings menu
- Next you’ll see the options for Captions & Subtitles for the film you’re watching
- Press On or Off and select the language you want
- Hulu will save your settings for future movies or TV shows so you don’t have to change it every time
How to change the language on Roku
Hulu is already available on the latest versions of Roku. You can watch all your favorite shows on your favorite streaming device. To enable subtitles and change the language you need to do the same steps as with FireStick, the apps on these devices look the same.
How to change the language in Hulu on AppleTV
There are several versions of AppleTV and changing the language may be slightly different depending on which model you have. If you are using an older version of AppleTV (3rd generation or lower) :
- While watching your show, press the UP button on your remote control to pull up the playback bar
- Press Up again to show more settings
- Find Captions and then select the language you want
If you have a newer version of AppleTV (4th generation or later) :
- While watching your show, swipe down on your remote control to pull up the playback bar
- Swipe up or press to open the Settings menu
- Under Captions & Subtitles, press On for the language you want for the subtitles
Hulu will remember your choice and save it. You won’t have to reselect a language in the future.
How to change the language on your PC
If you use a PC, you probably use Chrome to watch Hulu. If you need to change the language, it’s very easy to do, you need :
- Turn on the movie or show you want to watch.
- Move your cursor to the bottom left. The playback bar should open
- On the left side, you will see the Gears icon. Click on it
- Click on the Subtitles and Audio option in the menu that appears
- Choose Audio you want or subtitles in your preferred language.
The same procedure will work for Mac.
How to change the language on your mobile device
If you want to change the language of the show on your cell phone you need to :
- Open Hulu and start watching your favorite show
- Tap on the screen to reveal playback options
- A small gear icon will be available on the left side of the bar Click on it
- Choose Audio and Subtitles options and then select your language.
- You can swipe the settings down to return to your show
Also if you can’t find the voiceover for your favorite show in the Hulu settings. Perhaps it is presented separately in Hulu in your language. For example, if you want to view South Park in Spanish just type in South Park en Español and it will show the correct version of your show.
