How to find your unique Steam ID

After registering in Steam, each user is assigned a unique identifier called a Steam ID. Unlike the nickname, the ID consists of only 17 digits and cannot be changed by the user to another. You may need this ID to link certain services to your Steam account. Moreover, it’s not private information. That’s why you don’t need to worry if someone knows it.

There are several ways to find and see your Steam ID. You can do it directly through your Steam account, using the address bar in a web browser, or using third-party websites. You can even find someone else’s Steam ID. And there’s nothing complicated about doing it.

How to check your Steam ID

The easiest and fastest way to find out your Steam ID is to find it in your account. To do so, just follow these instructions:

  • First of all, open Steam and sign in to your account, if needed.
  • Then click on your profile icon and select “Account details”.
  • Finally, you will see your Steam ID on the left.

Moreover, you can find out not only your Steam ID but also view your friend’s wishlist on Steam.

  • Then click on the “Edit Profile” button.
  • Scroll down to the “Custom URL” field.

There you will see your Steam ID. You can change it to show your nickname instead of it in the link to your profile, for example. Just enter your nickname and save the changes.

How to find the Steam ID in the address bar

To find your Steam ID in the address bar you need to follow these instructions:

  • Open the Steam app on your PC and click on your profile icon.
  • Select “View my profile”.
  • Then right-click on the blank field near your nickname and select “Copy Page URL”.
  • Finally, just paste somewhere and you will see the digits in this URL.

These digits are your Steam ID. However, sometimes it can be hidden. To make it visible, you have to do the following:

  • Click on the “Steam” tab at the top left corner of the window and select “Settings”.
  • After that, go to the “Interface” section and check the box labeled “Display web address bars when available”.
  • Then click “OK” and go back to your profile.

Once you have completed these steps, you should see your Steam ID as a long number at the end of the URL in the address bar.
