Meta confirms that the next-generation Quest headset will be available in 2023

The Meta Quest Pro became available this week for $1500. However, the company didn’t stop there and is already announcing the next version of its cheaper VR headsets. During the company’s latest earnings call, outgoing CFO Dave Wester said the next generation of the Quest consumer headset will launch later in 2023.

Mark Zuckerberg also mentioned the “next generation of our consumer Quest headset.” He didn’t name the device, but it looks like he was referring to Meta Quest 3. It’s unclear exactly when it might be unveiled, but in the past, the company has unveiled new headsets in the fall to coincide with its annual Connect event.

This isn’t the first time Zuckerberg has mentioned Quest 3. This month, he told analyst Ben Thompson that the Quest 3 was in development and would likely cost between $300 and $500. That would make it more in line with the previous Quest headsets.
