HomeTechMobileYou can get Apple...

You can get Apple Music recaps every month now, and that’s (not) cool

I’ll be brief: Apple Music Replay, the Spotify Wrapped counterpart, is now available every month instead of once a year. So, if you use Apple Music once every 30 days, you’ll be able to find out what tracks are most strongly lodged in your ears. And you don’t have to wait a year like you used to.

But I don’t know whether to be happy about that or not. On the one hand, it’s certainly very convenient. And a lot of people will like to get the stats pretty quickly. On the other hand, as someone who uses Spotify all the time, it has become a good tradition for me to get a report once a year at the end of the year. My entire Instagram is littered with screenshots of people sharing what they listened to throughout the year. A lot of people are surprised by what ended up at the top. Others, on the contrary, boast of their excellent taste in music.

It was like a birthday party when you waited a whole year for a small event to please yourself and others and share a piece of something cool

Now, if you use Apple Music all the time, that joy will be taken away from you because you’ll be able to watch the report whenever you want. Or rather, you’ll get it more often.

Of course, freedom and more choice and all that. I guess that’s cool. But I can’t help but feel like a little annual joy has been taken away from me. And yes, I use Spotify. But a hunch tells me it might follow in Apple’s footsteps. I hope not.

P. S. Apple Music recap is now available. So you can watch it if you want.
